Chris Golightly, a former contestant from Mnet's audition program 'Superstar K3', has apologized to his fans for his recent scandal.
The aspiring singer hosted a press conference at a cafe in Seoul on February 10th, where he addressed his scandal and attempted to clear up any misunderstandings.
Golightly's scandal involved meeting a few female friends through online community sites and his personal fan cafe. Reportedly, he had sexual relations with them, and the women involved said that they would be considering legal action for mental distress.
Up til now, Chris Golightly claimed to be innocent of these accusations, and even threatened to reveal the photos of the women in question. But at the press conference, the singer looked much more calm and apologetic. "I hope that you will give me another chance," he said. "I would like to promote in Korea as musician Chris."
"I will not cause any disgraceful problems again," he continued.
Below is the official press release that Chris Golightly had distributed:
"My name is Chris Golightly.
I came to Korea because I love music. Korea is like my second home. I met some good people here, and I would like to continue my music career here in Korea.
However, I am here because of the disgraceful rumors surrounding my personal life. The girls who've stated that I have caused them harm could not be further from the truth. I think that there are some misunderstandings that took place because of the cultural differences.
Regardless, I would like to apologize to everyone who became hurt because of me. I hope that you will give me a second chance. I would like to promote in Korea as Chris the musician. I will work to learn the Korean culture that I did not understand before.
I hope that you will support me so that I can develop my career here. I will not cause any disgraceful problems again. I will show you my appeal as a musician."
