Singer Kim Jang Hoon is becoming a hot topic after he wrote a long post about MC Mong on his minihompi. Kim Jang Hoon is known for speaking out on issues related to depression and panic disorders, and he noticed that his industry junior was showing some alarming signs. "I came across the idea of death as I was writing a letter to a little girl fan who passed away at such a young age," he began. "I sent MC Mong and his close friend to America for vacation, out of my fear that he would die." Kim Jang Hoon continued, "For about a year, he didn't go out and practically lived inside his house or at the studio, receiving harsh criticisms and hostile arrows. Living was probably not living for him. From what I saw, he had symptoms of depression and signs of a panic disorder. ...Because I went through an emotional breakdown myself, I got alarmed and sent him on a vacation." He also added a few personal thoughts on MC Mong, saying, "There are different ways of judging a celebrity's behavior. It is all based on the people and their emotions." "The celebrity can be found guilty by law, but still perform on stage; on the other hand, even though the celebrity was found 'not guilty' by law, if the people feel that the act was wrong, then the celebrity is ultimately guilty [in their eyes]. In that sense, I can understand those who give such criticisms; although they are sometimes brutal, I believe that they are on point." "MC Mong as a man would have been really confused, caught in between the public's opinion and the law. During the process where he tried to prove that he was not guilty, he probably felt that he was obligated to enlist in the army. ...He became aware of his faults and understood those who were criticizing him completely. To this day, he is still trying to find ways to enlist in the military."

Kim Jang Hoon on MC Mong: "I thought he was going to die"

"There are some who question the relationship between MC Mong and I, asking when did we become so close? Honestly, before this happened, I never privately met him. I saw him during his Mnet days and grew less fond of him, as I thought that his increasing popularity was changing him."
"However, one day, I heard of him through mutual friends. They said that MC Mong always took care of those who were close to him, both in a materialistic and personal way. I was really surprised, since I personally think that it's important to take care of those who believe in me; I was happy when I heard that about him."
"I didn't really do much for him. I did little things such as bringing a plate of sushi during Chuseok and having drinks with him, or sending him on a vacation (like now). If people were to criticize me, then they are right, I am stupid, I am throwing rocks at those who are giving me their love..."
"I told MC Mong (and he agreed when I said this) that thinking and reflecting is the only way we could fix things. What I could do as a hyung is when he is getting hit by hundreds of rocks, I can sneak in for a bit and block at least five of those rocks so that he can breathe a little."
He ended his post by saying, "I heard that Korea has the #1 suicide rate; whenever I read articles on celebrities committing suicide, I get emotional. I just think, if only one person could have stood sincerely next to that person, then it might have been prevented. There might even be someone who is looking for a helping hand right now."
"Many of you know that just last year, I admitted I had depression and suffered symptoms of panic disorder. Regardless of who is watching, I am going to get rid of the problem that I've held inside of me. I know there will be those who will criticize me for even writing this, but I will gladly accept that as well."
