MC Yoo Jae Suk, who split with his agency last year over issues of unpaid wages, has filed a civil lawsuit against both Storm E&F (formerly DY Entertainment) and SBS. The Seoul Central District Court revealed on September 14th that Yoo Jae Suk, "did not receive what was promised in the last course of action", when he filed formal requests for payment from both SBS and Storm E&F. A representative of Yoo Jae Suk explained, "Last year, Yoo Jae Suk decided to participate in the variety program 'Running Man' with a deal promising 10,000,000 won (approximately $9,050 USD) per episode with SBS. Currently, SBS has yet to pay 118,000,000 won (~ $106,800 USD) won for episodes 1-12." They added, "Last year, SBS promised to deliver the wages, which is why the lawsuit was withdrawn. However, SBS did not keep their word." In response, representatives of SBS stated, "We did not intentionally skip payments for Yoo Jae Suk. They were delayed because there was some confusion over whom to pay the wages to -- his former agency or to Yoo Jae Suk." They added, "We are paying Yoo Jae Suk directly for his participation on 'Running Man', and the issue is over payment for past episodes. However, it's taking time because we decided that the problems between Yoo Jae Suk and his past agency could become legal disputes. As soon as this problem is resolved, the deposits will be made."
