On the January 27 broadcast of MBC's 'I Live Alone', actress Bae Da Bin shared how she spent her Seollal holiday with a special person, her younger brother. 

On this day, Bae Da Bin invited her younger brother, VERIVERY's Hoyoung, to her home so they could celebrate Seollal together as family. Bae Da Bin diligently prepared tteokguk to make sure her K-Pop idol younger brother, who is always restricting his diet, could at least eat well over the Lunar New Year holidays. 

Over dinner, the siblings caught up on what they've been up to lately, and Hoyoung commented that his hair has been splitting and breaking due to damage. Bae Da Bin, on the other hand, said, "I'm sad too, because I keep having to cut my hair short [for my roles]." Hearing this, Hoyoung responded, "I think [you] look prettier with longer hair. With shorter hair, you look too much like me. It's like I'm looking in the mirror." 

Later on during her interview, Bae Da Bin explained that while the rest of their family lives in New Zealand, she and Hoyoung decided to pursue careers in Korea. She revealed, "I came to live in Korea on my own at first. And then my brother, my only younger brother, came to Korea. Thankfully, we were living very close by, and so we naturally began relying on each other as one another's only other family member in Korea."

Hoyoung also sincerely thanked his sister for being his reliable companion and even his guardian, when he was still a minor. He said, "I came [to Korea] when I was 18-years old. You were 23-years old at the time. Most 23-year olds, they don't typically take care of another person." Bae Da Bin also fondly recalled, "I remember I took [Hoyoung] to all of his auditions. I went with him to a studio so he could have his profile photos taken, I took him to a professional salon to have his hair and makeup done, and then I took him to each of his auditions. I just thought that at his age, he would need someone to go along with him."

To this, Hoyoung replied, "I think that if you weren't there, I probably would not have made it." 

Finally, wrapping up her interview and sharing her thoughts on the meaning of family, Bae Da Bin mentioned that she was always grateful to receive a handwritten letter from her brother, each time he brought her VERIVERY's new album.
