Back on January 27, the cast and crew of MBC's new Fri-Sat drama series 'Kokdu: Season of Deity' attended a press conference in light of the production's premiere the same evening.

'Kokdu: Season of Deity' tells the story of a god of death, who is sent to the human realm every 99 years to punish humanity for their evils. He then meets a doctor with strange powers, a woman named Han Kye Jeol. The drama stars Lim Soo Hyang, Kim Jung Hyun, Dasom, Ahn Woo Yeon, Kim In Kwon, and more. 

In particular, actor Kim Jung Hyun garnered attention on this day due to the fact that it is the first time in 5 years, since the controversial press conference for the MBC drama 'Time' in 2018, that the actor has returned to MBC to attend a drama press conference.

Notably, the actor displayed a completely different attitude during the press conference for 'Kokdu: Season of Diety', greeting the press with a serene smile, making cute hearts with his co-star Lim Soo Hyang, and also playfully posing for photos with some of his other co-stars like Kim In Kwon. 

Kim Jung Hyun also revealed his sincere thoughts on his return to MBC after 5 years. He began, "I spent some time, some may consider it short, some may consider long, but I spent a bit of time reflecting on myself. It was MBC that extended a warm hand toward me first, and my heart was just so grateful. I want to take this opportunity to thank the director and affiliates of MBC."

He continued, "I went through a lot of personal matters in recent years, and it was a time and a chance for me to look back, think back on my actions, and become a more solid person who could show a good image."

Kim Jung Hyun then added on, "From the moment that I started this project, up to now, there was a small part of me that always worried that I might be a nuisance to my teammates, I might hurt my teammates from this drama. I was afraid that the passion and the effort that my teammates poured into this drama would all be for naught due to one person, a person like me. But even with those fears, I am trying my best to show my hardest work, so please regard this production with kindness." 

'Kokdu: Season of Diety' premiered back on January 27 at 9:50 PM KST.
