On April 3, MAMAMOO members Whee In and Hwa Sa appeared as guests on the first episode of KBS2's new weekend variety series, 'Come Back Home'!
On this broadcast, Whee In and Hwa Sa joined hosts Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Yong Jin, and Lee Young Ji on a very special trip down memory lane, by visiting the rooftop home that the two of them lived in as trainees!
According to Hwa Sa, the rooftop home was the first place she lived in when she arrived in Seoul in 2011, to begin her trainee life as an aspiring idol. Whee In, who had lived with her aunt at first, eventually also moved in to the rooftop room.
While chatting with Whee In and Hwa Sa about their trainee days, Yoo Jae Suk pointed out, "According to SHINee's Key, he thinks that the system of idols living together in dorms as trainees, which began in the 90's, should be reconsidered. What if in the future, Whee In and Hwa Sa, you set up your own company and decide to produce an idol group. Would you make them live in a dorm?"
Without a moment's hesitation, Whee In replied, "Yes," causing laughter! Whee In quickly explained, "If not... it might turn into a dog fight." Hwa Sa agreed and said, "I will also live in the dorm with them [to watch them]." Whee In emphasized, "Even if it's hard, you still have to go through it."
Later on, Whee In and Hwa Sa went to visit their old rooftop home, getting a tour of their old neighborhood as well! The two idols reminisced about all of the delicious restaurants and food stops that they frequented back in those days, making the MCs point out, "All you talk about is food!"
Sitting together outside the rooftop home, the MCs and guests decided to have a miniature grilling party. While eating, the two MAMAMOO members shared the story of how they first met. Hwa Sa began, "We were assigned to the same homeroom in our first year of middle school."
Whee In then added on, "At first, I thought to myself, 'I don't think I want to be friends with that girl'. She was so odd. No one even asked her to, but she would just go up in front of the class and start singing." Hwa Sa explained, "I was really passionate about my dreams back then. I wanted to take over the world with my singing."
Whee In went on, "So even though I wasn't really interested, one day [Hwa Sa] just came up to me and said, 'Hey. I wanna be friends with you'. She was so direct. So I just said, 'Okay'."

I really want a friendship like Wheein and Hwasa. They've been friends since middle school and were able to debut together in a group. They are like each other's support system
