Singer Sung Si Kyung is temporarily suspending his signature concert series 'Wedding Song,' which he has held for 14 years.
On April 6, Sung Si Kyung shared, “I mentioned this to the audience during the concert - after starting ‘Sung Si Kyung’s Wedding Song’ in 2012, I’ve decided to take a break this year for the first time in 14 years.”
He continued, “It took a lot of courage for me to take a break from a concert that has brought me overwhelming happiness every time I performed it.”
Explaining the reason for the break, he said, “I had a lot of concerts last year, and I suddenly felt the need for a time to recharge.” He added, “Though I haven’t truly been resting, I’m trying not to waste the time I have, reflecting on myself, taking on new challenges I haven’t tried before, and preparing good music.”
He also left a reassuring message for fans who may be concerned. “It’s not like I’m disappearing or retiring, so please don’t worry,” he said, asking for their continued support.
Sung Si Kyung first gained public attention in 2001 through the “Sleepless Night, Rain Is Falling” project on KBS Radio’s 'Yoon Do Hyun’s Love Letter,' and officially debuted later that same year.
Since then, he has solidified his status as one of Korea’s leading ballad singers with numerous hit songs, including “On the Way to You,” “Hee Jae,” “We Match Quite Well,” “Two People,” “On the Street,” “You Were Impressive,” “It Would Be Good,” “At That Time, In That Place,” “Because You’re Mine,” “Goodbye My Love,” and “You Are My Spring.”
