INFINITE's charismatic rapper and performer Jang Dongwoo has officially joined the cast of the upcoming musical adaptation of 'Dream High,' the beloved coming-of-age K-drama that captivated audiences with its heartfelt story and vibrant musical numbers.
Dongwoo plays Jinguk, a rival and helper to the protagonist, Song Samdong. Although Jin-guk's tone and actions may seem rough, he’s lonely and dreams of happiness more than anyone else.
Dongwoo, known for his powerful vocals, dynamic dance skills, and theatrical flair, previously participated in musicals like In the 'Heights' and 'Altar Boyz,' earning praise for his versatility and natural charisma. This musical marks his 5th musical since he began his career in 2015 with "In The Heights." He’s made his debut as a major theater actor this time after 10 years in the musical industry.
When asked about the message of the musical, Dongwoo shared, "My family and I are all living with dreams. I hope the audience can also have moments where they continue to chase and knock on their dreams. Don’t lose interest in the concept of 'lifelong learning' and keep questioning why you dream and strive. May your dreams continue.”
Dongwoo will also participate in the Busan Step Up Dance Festival on May 17 as part of the musical promotions!
