On April 2, a media outlet reported that former Big Bang member Seungri had traveled to China last month to explore new business opportunities.
According to an entertainment industry insider cited in the report, Seungri remains highly interested in the entertainment business. While he has no concrete plans yet, he is said to be considering various ventures.
Another source stated that although Seungri has completely cut ties with his former Big Bang members, he still maintains good relationships with other acquaintances and discusses business matters with them.
Previously, Seungri was spotted at a club in Hangzhou, China, drawing attention. However, he faced a strong backlash from Chinese netizens.
Seungri was a central figure in the 2018 'Burning Sun Scandal,' which caused significant public controversy. He was later convicted on multiple charges, including arranging prostitution for investors, violating foreign exchange laws, embezzlement, and gambling overseas with a sum exceeding 2 billion KRW (~1.4 million USD). He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.
Since his release in February 2023, Seungri’s overseas activities have been revealed multiple times, each sparking fresh controversy. Instead of showing remorse or self-reflection, he has been seen partying with celebrities in various countries, drawing criticism.
Furthermore, he has faced backlash for singing Big Bang’s songs and mentioning his former group members, seemingly leveraging their fame despite having severed ties with them. More recently, he has been seen socializing with women in South Korea, further fueling public scrutiny.
