The family of the late Sulli has raised concerns about the controversial nude scenes in the film 'Real' and commented on Kim Soo Hyun’s recent press conference.

On March 31, Sulli’s family spoke with TV Report, saying, “Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference was exactly as expected, so it wasn’t surprising. I watched it expressionlessly.”

They explained their reasons for speaking out about 'Real': “The media became noisy due to the situation involving the late Kim Sae Ron. There were many articles that mirrored our own experience, which caused a lot of stress. I wanted to help, even if just a little, seeing how difficult things are for Kim Sae Ron’s family. I also wanted to express my personal frustrations.”

They continued, “There are three main concerns about 'Real'. First, the script lacked detail. There was supposed to be a stand-in for the nude scenes, but that stand-in reportedly couldn’t attend the shoot due to illness. However, they were actually on set. The scene should have been done by the stand-in, and I don’t understand why it played out the way it did.”

Regarding claims that Sulli self-harmed after filming 'Real' due to extreme stress, the family said, “We can’t definitively say it was because of 'Real' or Kim Soo Hyun. But it’s a known fact that she received a wave of malicious comments after the movie. I also believe there were private matters my sibling was struggling with.”

They added, “I think Director Lee Jeong Seob holds the key to the 'Real' issue. Whether Gold Medalist responds or not, I don’t know—but they need to understand that silence will only hurt them further.”

They reiterated, “Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference was too predictable. I wasn’t surprised—I watched without emotion.”

'Real' starred Kim Soo Hyun and Sulli. During post-production, director Lee Jeong Seob was replaced by Kim Soo Hyun’s family and producer Lee Ro Be, co-founder of the production company. At the time, the company explained, “There were differences in creative direction, so Lee Jeong Seob left. Post-production is ongoing.”

Despite high expectations, 'Real' was critically panned, with ratings in the low 4-point range. However, it gained notoriety for its explicit nude and bed scenes, especially involving Sulli—who, as a former idol and visual member of a major agency, drew heightened attention.

At the press screening, Sulli had said, “There were many difficult scenes, including nudity. It was a tough challenge, and I had many concerns.” In contrast, Kim Soo Hyun remarked, “I’m grateful Sulli looked beautiful in the movie.”

Director Lee Jeong Seob recently commented on social media (March 28), “Someone mentioned the director switch in 'Real'. It seems to be resurfacing because of that actor. Could it be the person involved?” He added, “Now that the film is out, I can confidently say that not even 1% of the film’s outcome is my responsibility,” closing with, “Thank you. It’s been a long, painful time.”

Kim Soo Hyun has recently come under fire amid allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae Ron when she was underage. At his press conference on the 31st, he tearfully stated, “I dated Kim Sae Ron after she became an adult.” His legal team has also filed a 12 billion KRW(~8,176,618 USD) defamation lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family.
