Koo Jun Yup was seen visibly grieving at the funeral of his late wife, Barbie Hsu, as he held her urn in his arms.
On March 15, Chinese media outlets, including Sina Entertainment, released photos from the ceremony, showing Koo Jun Yup braving the heavy rain to say his final goodbye. Wearing a black suit that appeared loose on his once-muscular frame, he looked significantly thinner, reflecting his deep sorrow.
According to reports, Barbie Hsu was laid to rest at Jinbaoshan Cemetery. Her brother Hsu Xi Jie, her mother Huang Chun Mei, her two children, and other family members attended the farewell in the pouring rain. However, her ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, was absent.
The family followed traditional customs, with Koo Jun Yup and the two children entering the columbarium, while Hsu Xi Jie and their mother waited in the car. Observers noted that Koo Jun Yup, visibly frail, held his wife’s ashes close and wept as he bid his final farewell.

Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu first dated in 1998 but parted ways after a year. She later married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei, with whom she had a son and a daughter. However, due to domestic violence and infidelity allegations, the couple divorced in 2021. After hearing about her divorce, Koo Jun Yup reached out to her, and they rekindled their relationship, marrying in 2022.
Tragically, Barbie Hsu passed away at the age of 48 while on a trip to Japan on February 2. Custody of her two children has now been transferred to Wang Xiaofei. Her estate will be divided equally among Koo Jun Yup and her two children. However, Koo Jun Yup has stated that he will relinquish his share to his mother-in-law and take legal measures to protect the children from any potential threats.
