Song Baek Kyung, former member of 1TYM, opened up about his life after retiring from the entertainment industry on the March 15 episode of KBS2’s ‘Mr. House Husband 2’.

Now a father of two, he reflected on his journey since getting married in 2016 and welcoming his first child in 2017. He explained, “I’ve been running nonstop since then.”

His appearance surprised Eun Ji Won, who commented, “It feels like a kid raising kids. I always saw you as youthful, and I had no idea you had two children!”

Song Baek Kyung shared that he had avoided media appearances, believing that his time as a celebrity was over. “I never told my kids about my past as a singer. I always asked them not to bring it up because that’s not who I am anymore.”

He then visited KBS, where he had previously worked as a voice actor for two years. He explained that he pursued this career after suddenly becoming a husband and father, needing a stable job while utilizing his talents. “I enrolled in a night school program and trained to become a broadcast voice actor.” Since then, he has worked on major advertisements, including burger and banking commercials.

His decision to appear on ‘Mr. House Husband 2’ was driven by his children. “Now that they’re learning how to read, they search my name and find my old performances. They ask, ‘Why aren’t you on TV anymore?’ and I didn’t have a good answer. I wanted to show them that I’m still working hard in a different way.”

He also provided updates on his former 1TYM bandmates. “Danny is now a father of two in the U.S., and Oh Jin Hwan runs a café in Jeju Island.” Regarding Teddy, he said, “He and I have taken completely different paths. I last saw him at my wedding, and suddenly reaching out now feels unnecessary.”

Now balancing life as a voice actor and restaurant owner, Song Baek Kyung continues to focus on his family while building a new career outside the entertainment industry
