On February 28, BLACKPINK's Lisa shared her thoughts on the challenges of running her own agency.
The YouTube channel ‘ZIP DAESUNG’ released a video titled ‘BangPink in Your Area Part 2 | Now Only Two Left,’ featuring Lisa as a guest. In the episode, she engaged in an in-depth conversation with Daesung.
Lisa established her independent label, LLOUD, last year. When Daesung asked, “As a CEO, have you realized things that the company used to cover?” Lisa candidly responded, “Music video production costs… they’re no joke.”
Daesung pointed out that both Big Bang and BLACKPINK have always shot large-scale music videos under YG Entertainment. He then asked about the filming of Lisa’s ‘Rockstar’ music video, mentioning that she reportedly rented a street for the shoot. Lisa clarified, “We didn’t actually rent it. We went there at dawn, and luckily, the rain had just stopped. The ground was wet and reflective, and since no one was around, the video turned out great.”
Lisa further explained, “The director comes up with the storyline for the music video, and if I have any ideas, I suggest them.” When Daesung playfully asked, “So do you try to negotiate and cut costs?” Lisa laughed and admitted, “I always ask for discounts.”

However, she acknowledged the difficulty of staying within budget, saying, “The costs always end up exceeding expectations because I want to meet fans’ expectations.”
Meanwhile, Lisa released her first full-length album, ‘Alter Ego,’ today (Feb 28). She is also set to perform at 'the Academy Awards ceremony' in March and take the stage as a solo act at Coachella in April.
