The Boyz’s Eric debuts as DJ on ‘Idol Radio’

Eric from The Boyz successfully debuted as a radio DJ on MBC FM4U’s ‘Idol Radio Season 4’ on January 20th KST. This marks his first-ever venture into hosting since debuting as an idol.

Since its launch in 2018, ‘Idol Radio’ has become a staple program featuring K-pop stars as hosts, gaining steady love from fans. While Sunwoo, also from The Boyz, has been hosting the program solo since February 2024, Eric recently joined as a co-DJ on January 15th, sparking anticipation among fans.

Eric opened the broadcast with an energetic and heartfelt greeting, comparing his excitement to that of a rookie pitcher in their first game. Despite his nerves, Eric showcased his natural hosting skills, seamlessly transitioning between segments and engaging with fans both online and in-person. During the broadcast, fans suggested “Eddie” as his DJ nickname, which was officially adopted.

Eric also performed a logo song written by Sunwoo, showcasing his powerful rap skills, and took on various challenges and song covers, leaving a strong impression in his debut. Adding to the celebratory mood, fellow The Boyz member Younghoon made a special guest appearance, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

At the end of the broadcast, Eric expressed his excitement and gratitude:

“Becoming a DJ has always been a dream of mine, and I’m so thankful and honored to make it come true. I’m thrilled to connect with listeners every Monday through this visible radio show. I’ll continue to work hard to become the best Eddie I can be. I promise to share lots of love with everyone!”

With his wit and charm, Eric successfully completed his first radio DJ appearance, proving his versatility as an entertainer. Fans eagerly anticipate his future as a DJ.

‘Idol Radio’, co-hosted by Eric and Sunwoo, airs live every Monday and Wednesday at 9 PM on the MBC Radio YouTube channel ‘Mhz’. The program is also available every Saturday at midnight on MBC FM4U (91.9MHz in Seoul and Gyeonggi regions).
