The highly anticipated Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 held its world premiere event on December 9th.

The event kicked off with a pink carpet, a nod to the iconic color of the series. Cast members from both seasons, including Park Hae Soo, Jung Ho Yeon, Tripathi Anupam, and Kim Joo Ryung from Season 1, joined the Season 2 actors on the pink carpet, delighting fans and media. The event drew significant attention not only from Korean press but also from major international media outlets.

The event opened with a performance by the world-renowned dance crew 1MILLION, followed by appearances from director Hwang Dong Hyuk and cast members Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Wi Ha Jun, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, Lee Seo Hwan, Chae Gook Hee, Lee David, Noh Jae Won, Jo Yu Ri, Won Ji An, Jeon Seok Ho, and Kim Beop Rae.

Director Hwang introduced the new season, explaining, “The story centers on the battle between ‘Gi Hun,’ who is determined to stop the game, and the ‘Front Man,’ who is trying to prevent him. The tension and twists in their conflict will make for an exciting watch.”

The evening concluded with an exclusive screening of the first episode of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 for attending fans. Following the world premiere, news broke that‘Squid Game’ Season 2 had been nominated for Best Television Series - Drama at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. This unexpected announcement surprised and thrilled attendees.

Director Hwang shared his gratitude: “I’m incredibly thankful for this nomination, especially for a series that hasn’t even been released yet.
