Jessi, who recently faced allegations of ignoring a fan assault incident, expressed gratitude to her fans as she marked her 19th debut anniversary.
On November 2nd, Jessi posted a heartfelt message in English on her Instagram account.
"I can’t believe it’s already been 19 years," she began. "I want to thank my Jebbies (fans) for being on this journey with me. Your unwavering faith and support in my career mean everything to me. Without you, I truly wouldn’t be here."
Reflecting on her journey, she wrote, "Life is a journey, and with it comes peaks and valleys. It’s never a stable or predictable path. We’ve ridden this roller coaster together, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side. Through this journey, I’ve grown from a young girl who moved to Korea alone to a woman navigating this industry."
Jessi added, "The challenges I’ve faced taught me that no one knows my struggles better than I do. Your faith in me throughout it all has been my greatest strength. I hope I can inspire you not to fear chasing your dreams and to never give up on your goals."
The controversy surrounding Jessie began on September 29th when an incident occurred in Apgujeong, Gangnam, involving a physical altercation with a fan. A fan (referred to as "A") had approached Jessi on the street to request a photo but was declined. During this interaction, a male companion of Jessi reportedly assaulted the fan.
Following the incident, "A" filed a complaint against Jessi and three others for alleged assault. Jessi, during a police investigation, reportedly claimed that she did not know the assailant, stating he was "someone she met for the first time."
Recently, Jessi appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul to address allegations of threats and aiding in hiding the assailant. However, she was ultimately cleared of the charges, with no case being forwarded for prosecution.
