Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin has filed a counter lawsuit against Kim Tae Ho, Chief Operating Officer of BeLift Lab, and 3 others in the ongoing dispute over ILLIT's alleged plagiarism of NewJeans.
On November 22 KST, Law Firm Sejong, representing Min Hee Jin, relayed in an official statement, "Min Hee Jin has filed a criminal complaint today (November 22) with the Yongsan Police Station against Chief Operating Officer Kim Tae Ho, Vice President Choi Yoon Hyuk, Visual Director Heo Se Ryeon, and Head of Operations Lee Ga Joon of BeLift Lab for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. Additionally, she has filed a lawsuit seeking 5 billion KRW (~ $3.6 million USD) in damages."
A day earlier, BeLift Lab had acted first by announcing that it had filed a civil lawsuit with the Seoul Western District Court, demanding 2 billion KRW (~ $1.4 million USD) in damages from Min Hee Jin for making false accusations against ILLIT. On the same day, Source Music filed a civil lawsuit with the same court, demanding 500 million KRW (~ $358,000 USD) in damages from Min Hee Jin for false accusations about LE SSERAFIM.
As a counter measure, Min Hee Jin has decided to proceed with the first in a series of counter lawsuits against her opponents.
Additionally, Min Hee Jin's legal representatives stated, "Kim Tae Ho has claimed that Min Hee Jin deliberately delayed the proceedings of the civil lawsuit filed by BeLift Lab as a part of her 'media play', but this is entirely false. At the first hearing, scheduled for January of next year, the court will also review Min Hee Jin's counter lawsuit."
