Following the remarks made by his ex-wife Yulhee in her latest YouTube video, F.T. Island member Choi Minhwan is facing police investigation for suspected solicitation of prostitution.
Previously, in her YouTube video posted on October 24 KST, Yulhee revealed that the ultimate reason she chose to divorce Minhwan was his regular "adult establishment" visits. She also exposed a phone conversation recording between Minhwan and a male acquaintance, where Minhwan was heard saying, "Can you make us a reservation [for a hostess bar]?" and "They say there aren't any girls there."
Based on Yulhee's YouTube video, Choi Minhwan is now facing allegations of soliciting prostitution, a violation of South Korean Laws Against Prostitution. It's been reported that Choi Minhwan's case has been assigned to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, which will begin investigating the case soon.
According to Act 21 of the Laws against Prostitution, individuals who solicit prostitution can face up to 1 year or prison and a fine of up to 3 million KRW.
Meanwhile, Choi Minhwan's agency has yet to release a statement regarding the latest developments.
