Actor Nam Joo Hyuk (30) and Golden Child member Y (Choi Sung Yoon, 29) will be discharged from their mandatory military service duties today (September 19 KST).
First, Y relayed through his label Woollim Entertainment, "It feels like just yesterday that I began my service, but now it's already time for my discharge. I diligently fulfilled my duties as a soldier protecting my country, and it was a time that allowed me to feel truly grateful for the people I love and the work that I love. I would like to thank Goldenness for cheering me on during my times of solitude. I missed you so much. While I was away, there were some changes to the team, but nonetheless, I will repay you with a stronger and more mature mindset."
Following his return from active duty service, the Golden Child member is scheduled to greet fans with a live broadcast on September 20 at 4 PM KST on YouTube.
Next, actor Nam Joo Hyuk will also be discharged from his mandatory duties as a conscripted police officer today. Nam Joo Hyuk, who began his mandatory duties in March of last year, will soon begin considering his next project upon his return.
It's known that the actor was previously offered a role in the drama 'East Palace', a horror/mystery genre set in the historical period.
Also during his time away for his mandatory duties, Nam Joo Hyuk became wrapped up in past school bullying rumors, leading to a defamation lawsuit. In March of this year, the civil court sided with Nam Joo Hyuk by fining his accuser, 'A', a penalty of 7 million KRW (~ $5,300 USD). However, the accused objected the court's decision, demanding a full trial.
