The second season of ‘Squid Game’, the Korean series that took the world by storm, has been confirmed to premiere on December 26, with the third season scheduled for release in 2025.
Check out the full letter from ‘Squid Game’ producers, writers, and director Hwang Dong Hyuk:
“The real game begins.
It's already been three years since Season 1, in which I’ve received so much love and many unbelievable things had happened. Now, I am so happy and excited to be able to write a letter informing you of the release schedule for Season 2 and news about the production of Season 3.
On the first day of filming for Season 2, I remember it feeling surreal, thinking to myself, 'Wow, I can't believe I'm back in the Squid Game universe filming this.' I wonder what you think of the Squid Game universe 3 years after you first got to know it.
At the end of Season 1, the protagonist Seong Gi Hun returns to participate in the games filled with vengeance. Will he succeed in the revenge he proclaimed? The Front Man who greets him will be no easy feat this time too. Their fierce battle is expected to ensue until the long-awaited finale in Season 3, which will be released next year. I am truly happy that through the seed of our creation is able to sprout and mature fully in Season 3.
We will do our best in the remaining production to meet you in the best state.
Please be excited while waiting for it.
Thank you always. See you soon, everyone.”
