Convicted sex offender Go Young Wook's YouTube channel has been shut down.

Go Young Wook was charged with sexually assaulting minors in 2012, and he recently caused controversy by opening his own personal YouTube channel, where he began uploading vlogs of his daily life. Though many netizens criticized his activity on YouTube, Go Young Wook continued to upload 9 videos without opening the comment section for feedback.

On August 20, a national petition emerged requesting the suspension of Go Young Wook's YouTube activities, but his channel was shut down before then. It's known YouTube does not prohibit sex offenders from opening channels, but if numerous reports are filed or if there are other issues with the content, the channel may be closed or videos deleted.

Go Young Wook also personally commented on his YouTube channel getting taken down on social media. He wrote, "It seems like my YouTube channel was shut down overnight. Just because I have a criminal record, I haven't posted harmful content, so can YouTube apply non-existent rules selectively to individuals? I have served all the legal penalties... Is it really fair that some people are allowed to do things, while others are not? I am grateful to those who subscribed to my channel, visited, and showed interest. I also apologize and feel regret towards those who supported me via email. Although it was a short time, I appreciate the overflowing love from everyone and will not forget that kindness. Stay healthy!"

Go Young Wook was arrested and charged in 2012 for sexually assaulting minors in his Seoul officetel and car multiple times. He served a 2-year and 6-month prison sentenced, and his ankle monitoring period ended in July of 2018.
