Ji Chang-wook undergoes a striking transformation in his latest film.
The production team of "Revolver," directed by Oh Seung-wook, has released character stills of Ji Chang-wook as the "Perfumed Mad Dog" Andy. The film revolves around Su-yeong, a former police officer who was imprisoned after being framed for numerous crimes. Upon his release, he pursues a single goal with unwavering determination.
Ji Chang-wook's character, Andy, is notorious for his erratic behavior, living recklessly without regard for responsibilities or promises. Despite having more than he can handle, he makes decisions impulsively, causing chaos. His promise to reward Su-yeong for taking the fall for his crimes was meaningless to him, leading to Su-yeong's eventual confrontation.
The released character stills capture Andy's luxurious appearance with expensive glasses and clothing, contrasted by his hysterical inner nature. This fresh portrayal of Ji Chang-wook showcases a side of him that has never been seen before.
Ji Chang-wook explained his reasons for joining "Revolver," stating, "I found the character Andy interesting and felt I could make him even more compelling. I was also excited about the unique perspective Director Oh Seung-wook could bring to the role."
To meticulously prepare for the character, Ji Chang-wook worked closely with Director Oh, focusing on understanding the nuances between Andy's past and present. He experimented with various costumes to bring out Andy's distinct personality.
Director Oh Seung-wook expressed his satisfaction with Ji Chang-wook's performance, saying, "He perfectly portrayed the complex character, like a diseased emperor." Jeon Do-yeon also praised Ji Chang-wook, stating, "He greatly helped me perform boldly," heightening anticipation for the intense performances and dynamic interactions between the cast.
"Revolver" is set to be released in theaters on the 7th of next month.
