NewJeans debuted their five-member performance of "Supernatural" on a Korean music show for the first time.
According to their agency ADOR, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) performed their Japanese debut single "Supernatural" and the accompanying track "Right Now" on KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' on July 12.
Following this, NewJeans is set to appear on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 13th and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 14th. On 'Show! Music Core,' they will not only perform their new songs but also a medley of their hit tracks "ETA," "OMG," and "Hype Boy."
These performances are especially significant as they mark Hyein’s first music show appearance since recovering from an injury that had prevented her from participating in the official activities for the double single "How Sweet" and the Japanese debut single "Supernatural."
Previously, the agency had announced that they were working hard to present a complete five-member stage on domestic music shows. This specially prepared performance was expected to be a wonderful gift for fans in response to their support and love.
Since the release of "Supernatural" on June 21, NewJeans has focused on fan meetings at the Tokyo Dome and activities on Japanese terrestrial music programs. They performed their new song on various shows, including Fuji TV's 'Mezamashi TV' and 'Mezamashi 8,' TV Asahi's 'Music Station,' Nihon TV's 'with MUSIC,' TBS's 'CDTV Live! Live!,' NHK's 'Venue 101,' Fuji TV's 'FNS Music Festival,' and Nihon TV's 'THE MUSIC DAY 2024,' impressing local fans.
With their active promotions, the popularity of "Supernatural" continued to rise. The song dominated major domestic music charts, reaching number one on Bugs' daily chart, and achieved high ranks on global charts such as Billboard in the U.S., Spotify Japan, and Apple Music Japan. In terms of album sales, their Japanese debut single "Supernatural" sold over 1 million copies, making all five of NewJeans' releases million-sellers.
