On May 22, group RIIZE visited LA City Hall, where they were honored by the Los Angeles City Council for their contributions to promoting the city globally through their diverse activities. Council President Paul Krekorian and several council members, including John Lee, were in attendance to show their support.
During the event, Councilmember John Lee presented RIIZE with a plaque of appreciation. Lee praised the group, stating, "RIIZE has played a significant role in connecting LA to the world through their music, particularly with their song 'Get A Guitar.'"
The music video for "Get A Guitar," which was shot across various locations in LA, was highly commended. Lee described it as "a love letter to LA and a showcase of the city's landmarks. It was perfect."
Anton, speaking on behalf of RIZE, expressed his gratitude: "LA holds a special place in the hearts of RIIZE. We have many memories here, from special stages at KCON, shooting our music video, to being chosen for the LA Tourism campaign music."
Anton added, "RIIZE has formed a deep connection with LA. We've proven the city's defining creativity and are thankful for every opportunity given. We hope to continue this wonderful relationship."
Last year, RIIZE filmed the music video for their debut song "Get A Guitar" entirely in LA. They have since appeared at 'KCON LA 2023', been selected for the LA Tourism campaign's background music, and hosted their first fan concert tour in the city.
On the same day, RIIZE is also set to visit Dodger Stadium, home of the LA Dodgers, and will participate in the 'Korean Cultural Heritage Night' event hosted by the team.
I feel like kim jong kook has promoted LA more times on Running Man than these boys have anywhere. I guess SME must had made a big donation to the city for this commendation
