According to media outlet reports on May 18 KST, petition letters were also submitted to the Seoul Central District Court by the five members of NewJeans ahead of the HYBE vs. Min Hee Jin court hearing which occurred on May 17 KST.
Although the contents of the petition letters submitted by the five members are unknown, it's said that Newjeans voiced their support for Min Hee Jin's side.
Media reporters found that the court documents from the May 17 hearing listed petition letters submitted by Danielle Marsh, Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein.
This is the first time since the HYBE vs. Min Hee Jin dispute became publicized that the members of NewJeans expressed their positions in the matter through legal documents.
Yesterday, it was reported that the parents of the NewJeans members had also submitted petition letters in support of Min Hee Jin's side.
In response, HYBE's legal representative said in court, "Min Hee Jin has no interest in protecting the artists. If she truly considers herself the 'Mother of NewJeans', she would act as a shield and stand in front of them to protect them from hardships; however, she is instead using the members as a shield to protect herself."
Meanwhile, in order for HYBE to prevent the civil court from taking away their voting rights at ADOR's extraordinary shareholder's meeting scheduled to take place on May 31 KST, the company must prove that Min Hee Jin committed acts that would justify her removal as CEO. Min Hee Jin, who submitted the request based on the claim that HYBE called for her removal without proper reasoning, will be able to hold her position as CEO for up to 5 years should HYBE fail to prove its case.
HYBE showed the texts they attribute to MHJ and which they say show MHJ treats the girls poorly, and simultaneously the girls file petitions in support. Leave it to the court to sort out what bits are true.
