On February 28 KST, World Vision, an esteemed international relief and development NGO, announced the appointment of Stray Kids member Lee Know to the 'Bob Pierce Honor Club'.
The Bob Pierce Honor Club is an esteemed group of major donors named after the organization's founder, Bob Pierce. Individuals who have contributed over 100 million won and exhibit a deep empathy towards various global issues, leading the charge in advocating the value of sharing, are selected as members. This club serves as a platform to foster a culture of active philanthropy by transparently disclosing the outcomes of donations. Notable figures like JYP Entertainment producer JY Park are among those who champion the value of sharing across various sectors of society.
In January, Lee Know generously donated 100 million won to World Vision's global food crisis response project, aiding children in the world's poorest regions facing food shortages exacerbated by rapid climate change. Moreover, in February of last year, he actively participated in emergency relief efforts following a significant earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Since 2014, Lee Know has also been actively involved in World Vision's overseas child sponsorship program, forming partnerships with a total of four children both domestically and abroad. Through these sponsorships, he has spearheaded initiatives to support underprivileged children, both locally and internationally.
Expressing his gratitude, Lee Know stated, "I am humbled to be able to contribute in any way to children in need, both at home and abroad. I will continue to reflect on how I can leverage my resources to make a positive impact and share the love I have received."
World Vision Chairman Cho Myung Hwan praised Lee Know for his unwavering dedication to supporting children in need, making him the youngest member ever to join the Bob Pierce Honor Club. He emphasized the hope that Lee Know's positive influence would resonate through World Vision's initiatives, expressing his commitment to furthering this cause.
In addition to his individual efforts, Lee Know, alongside fellow Stray Kids members Bang Chan, Hyunjin, Han, and Seungmin, collaborated with World Vision to host a 'DREAM DAY' event in October last year. This event, part of World Vision's 'Dreaming Children' project, brought together 16 teenagers aspiring to become singers. Through mentorship sessions, storytelling, advice-giving, and choreography lessons, the Stray Kids members inspired and supported the dreams of these young individuals.
These boys have such big hearts.💖
