Actor Jae Hee has been embroiled in controversy after his former manager, Mr. A, filed a criminal complaint against him for alleged fraud at the Namyangju Southern Police Station. The case is set to be transferred to Gangseo Police Station in Seoul, where Jae Hee resides.
According to the complaint, Jae Hee and Mr. A had a professional relationship spanning approximately six years, during which they developed a close bond. In February of last year, Jae Hee purportedly approached Mr. A with a request to borrow 60 million won to establish his own acting academy. However, despite receiving the loan, Jae Hee allegedly failed to repay the amount and severed all communication with Mr. A.
Subsequently, Jae Hee reportedly requested the termination of his exclusive contract with the entertainment company where Mr. A was employed. He claimed that he intended to repay the borrowed funds by transitioning to another entertainment agency and securing a substantial contract deposit. This decision left Mr. A feeling betrayed.
Despite promises to repay the loan, Jae Hee allegedly continued to postpone the repayment deadline, citing financial difficulties. In December of the previous year, all communication between Jae Hee and Mr. A ceased, prompting the latter to take legal action.
Despite the ongoing legal dispute, Jae Hee has maintained an active presence on social media platforms, including Instagram, where he shares updates with his fans. He was also appointed as a public relations ambassador for a charity in Jeju Island and has been actively involved in promotional activities.
Mr. A expressed frustration over Jae Hee's apparent disregard for the loan repayment agreement, accusing him of participating in various entertainment activities and events without fulfilling his financial obligations. In addition to the criminal complaint, Mr. A has initiated a lawsuit against Jae Hee to recover the outstanding loan amount.
Jae Hee, known for his roles in popular dramas such as 'Mountain' and 'Sassy Girl Chunhyang', has yet to publicly address the accusations against him.
No matter how well you think you know someone, you don't really know them until you loan them money. Then they become someone you used to know.
