Fans of the beloved girl group GFRIEND, which disbanded unexpectedly, are clamoring for a reunion following a series of intriguing posts on the individual Instagram accounts of the group's members.
Debuting in 2015 under Source Music, GFRIEND quickly captured the spotlight, amassing a significant following both domestically and internationally. The group's rise to fame was meteoric, and they soon established a robust global fanbase. However, in November 2020, the group released what would unexpectedly become their final album, leaving both the industry and the members themselves in a state of surprise.
In the wake of GFRIEND's disbandment, some of the members have embarked on solo careers. Notably, Umji, SinB, and Eunha made a comeback under the banner of VIVIZ, continuing their journey in the music industry. This development has only fueled the desire among fans for a GFRIEND reunion, as they eagerly await the possibility of seeing their favorite group together once again.
January 15 was the group's 9th anniversary, and much to the delight of their fans, the members posted pictures of their reunion.
BUDDIES (GFRIEND's fanbase) expressed happiness and hopefulness and sent love to the group. Some have taken to former leader Sowon's caption "9th anniversary..... and next is..." as a hint that GFRIEND may retake the stage as a six-member group once more.
What do you think? Will GFRIEND rock the industry and release a comeback as a six-member group again in the future?
One of the most unexpected disbandments I can think of. They were doing so well!
