The members expressed their gratitude, saying, "We sincerely thank STAYs (fandom name: STAY) and everyone who supports us around the world. We believe we couldn't have come this far without your love and support, and our music would not have reached the world. Thanks to the fans who sent a lot of love for Stray Kids' music, which contains a lot of our stubbornness, we were able to receive this valuable award. We will do our best to continuously show better performances".
Moreover, Stray Kids became the second K-pop boy group to grace the '2023 BBMAs' stage. They showcased two songs from their third album with an exciting sound mashup of 'Thunderous' and 'ROCK (樂),' delivering a powerful performance with numerous dancers, solid live skills, and explosive energy, thrilling fans worldwide.
The '2023 BBMAs' award is another powerful boost to Stray Kids' global trend. Following their feat of securing four consecutive No. 1s on the 'Billboard 200,' they celebrated another joyous occasion.
Since topping 'Billboard 200' with their mini-album 'ODDINARY' in March the previous year, they continued their success with 'MAXIDENT' in October, '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' in June 2023, and their mini-album '樂-STAR' (ROCK-STAR) released on November 10, consecutively entering and topping the 'Billboard 200' for four works in 20 months.
'樂-STAR' debuted at No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200' chart dated November 25, with first-week sales of 224,000 units, including 213,000 physical albums, making them the first K-pop group to debut and top the chart with all four albums.
According to Billboard, this record follows pop stars Alicia Keys and One Direction. Additionally, achieving four albums at the top of the 'Billboard 200' in 20 months is the fastest in K-pop and the second fastest globally, only behind Taylor Swift's record of 16 months.
In September, they made their first appearance at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards' and were selected as the winners of the Best K-Pop category with the title track 'Thunderous' from '★★★★★ (5-STAR),' proving their hot global popularity.
In July, they made history as the first K-pop artist to headline 'Lollapalooza Paris,' thrilling an audience of 60,000. From August to October, they were the first fourth-generation K-pop boy group to conduct a large dome tour in five cities in Korea and Japan, 'Stray Kids 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023,' which was a resounding success.
They will also enhance their worldwide presence by appearing on Japan's premier year-end special broadcast, NHK's 'Kohaku Uta Gassen,' on December 31.
