Unreleased films starring Lee Sun Gyun were put on hold due to the actor's illegal drug scandal. It would be difficult to determine when those will be released for the time being.
The movie 'Project: Silence,' which was invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival, was initially prepared for release early next year. The distributor CJ ENM commented, "Fortunately there was no definite release date, so we'll have to wait and see how the investigation goes." This film was said to have invested almost $14.8M USD for the production alone.
The movie 'The Land of Happiness,' is currently in post-production after finishing filming in February last year. Lee Sun Gyun has also been cast in the series 'No Way Out' by LG U+'s content specialty studio STUDIO X+U. Season 2 of Apple TV+'s 'Dr. Brain' is also currently in production with Lee Sun Gyun as the main lead.
Meanwhile, if Lee Sun Gyun's investigative case gets indicted by the prosecution, it would take over a year to get to the actual trial.
Netizens commented: "Lee Sun Gyun should be responsible for a lot of these things. He can't just say 'sorry' as he alone caused all the staff and his colleagues' efforts to go down the drain."
"I can't believe he did not manage to care about his great public image, which isn't easy to have."
"They should definitely sue Lee Sun Gyun for damages so that he won't do this again."
"How many other innocent people have to suffer? Lee Sun Gyun should at least monetarily compensate them."
"What was he thinking doing drugs with women at an adult establishment when he had his family and career?"
"I guess filmmakers should test their actors for drugs before they cast them from now on."
