International fans have rallied behind G-Dragon on social media, using hashtags such as #Staystrongdragon and #westandwithgdragon.
On October 26, G-Dragon acknowledged an international fan's support on Instagram by liking their post, which stated, "I can't stand people anymore," accompanied by the caption, "I will stand by G-Dragon forever."
He also liked a post which read, “Stay strong G-dragon #westandwithgdragon.”
After G-Dragon liked the posts, some fans have chosen to withhold judgment until more information on his investigation emerges. Some of the comments include: "If the allegations were true, he wouldn't have liked the post," "Let's await the outcomes," "Hoping for the best," and "Choosing to trust him once more."
On October 27, G-Dragon's legal counsel, Kim Soo-hyun, commented, "I echo Kwon Ji-yong's (G-Dragon's real name) stance regarding the unfounded rumors that have been recently disseminated both nationally and in the media."
G-Dragon, through his attorney, stated, "My name is Kwon Ji-yong. Firstly, I have not taken drugs. The recent media reports on the 'drug control law' have no connection to me."
He continued, "Nonetheless, I understand the concern this has raised among many. I will fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation and provide all necessary responses."
Meanwhile, the agencies of several K-pop acts have denied any rumors of links to the recent spate of drug-related investigations in the Korean entertainment industry.
The K-pop agencies that have released statements denying links include Big Hit Music (home to BTS), Source Music (LE SSERAFIM) and CUBE Entertainment ((G)I-DLE).
Right now, all we can do is just wait and see.
