Kang Dong-won has been continuously active in the industry. However, he hasn't appeared in a drama since "Magic" in 2004. While the film industry faced setbacks during the pandemic, the OTT market has flourished. As a result, even directors and actors who primarily worked in film have actively ventured into the OTT market.
In a recent interview with HeraldPOP at a café in Seoul's Jongno-gu, Kang Dong-Won mentioned that he is open to the idea of doing a series if the opportunity arises.
He said, "I had proposed making a series since the early days of OTT's emergence."
Continuing, he reminisced, "I had suggested creating a series based on a novel, aiming to take the lead, and it's been almost ten years now."
He went on to say, "I haven't done it in the end, but there have been many offers for OTT series. If the right project comes along, I'm willing to take it on."
Meanwhile, Kang Dong-won's latest film, "Ghost Doctor: The Secret of the Sacred Blood," follows the story of a fake exorcist, 'Ghost Doctor' (Kang Dong-won), who possesses an otherworldly insight but doesn't believe in ghosts. The film revolves around a powerful and unprecedented case that he takes on. It is currently enjoying a successful run in theaters.
If you're going to use acronyms like "OTT" maybe you should explain what it is, for people who dont know.
