The latest development surrounding former 'Boys Fantasy' contestant Yoo Jun Won (20) and his exclusive contract dispute with the agency managing the activities of Fantasy Boys, Pocketdol Studio, deals with Pocketdol Studio's claims that Yoo Jun Won's mother excessively intervened in her son's affairs. 

On August 24 KST, a representative of Pocketdol Studio spoke with SBS News to raise the claim "Yoo Jun Won's mother strongly demanded that the agency consult her with all specific details regarding his exclusive contract negotiation. Yoo Jun Won was the only member who had his mother accompany him during his initial contract signing, despite the fact that he is a legal adult." 

Pocketdol Studio further claimed that Yoo Jun Won's mother complained about a pair of pants her son wore at their airport, finding that the pants "did not suit his physique" and also that the bag he was given was "not a luxury brand bag". Additionally, Yoo Jun Won's mother strongly pointed out that Yoo Jun Won "did not stand in the center" during a group photo taken after a Japanese schedule. Yoo Jun Won's mother brought such complaints to the attention of Pocketdol Studio via email, such as those shown below.

SBS News also spoke with Yoo Jun Won's mother on this day, confirming that she had in fact filed the above complaints with Pocketdol Studio. Yoo Jun Won's mother commented, "I asked in advance that Jun Won be given a different pair of pants, as those pants did not suit his physique, but they did not accept my request. However, I heard that another member was able to have his outfit changed per request." She also added on, "I heard from the members that they are not always notified of their schedules in advance, and so I requested that the group's schedules be shared with me. However, no one ever updated me on the schedules." 

Currently, Yoo Jun Won's side and Pocketdol Studio have given extremely different positions in the ongoing dispute, which will be taken to civil court soon. 

Notably, on August 23, Yoo Jun Won published a portion of an adjunction agreement offered him by Pocketdol Studio during the process of his exclusive contract negotiation. According to the adjunction, the artist must agree to pay for specific fixed costs such as wages of on-site managers, PR managers, fan managers, various other staff, practice room rent, and rental car fees. 

Pocketdol Studio has since stepped up to explain that fixed costs are split 5:5 between the management agency and the artists. With 12 members in the group, the 5 which the artists must pay is also divided into 1/12. According to Pocketdol, such a distribution of fixed cost coverage is "the norm" in entertainment contracts and "not a legal violation." 

The adjunction also includes a clause which states that should any album released by the artist surpass 500,000 copies in sales within a 3 month period, the artist will from then on be relieved of their responsibility toward all fixed cost coverage until the expiration of the exclusive contract. 

On the other hand, Pocketdol Studio has also publicized a portion of a series of KakaoTalk message exchanged between Yoo Jun Won's mother and Pocketdol Studio staff. 

In the messages, Yoo Jun Won's mother emphasized, "Director. The distribution of payments that I talked about is not limited to concerts and broadcast appearances. It should also apply to album sales, streams, merchandise sales, etc. In the distribution of all earnings, Jun Won should receive 6 while the agency receives 4. If not, Jun Won will not sign the contract."
