BLACKPINK's Jennie opens up about her early life and dreams of becoming a K-pop idol on Dua Lipa's Podcast

In the latest episode of Dua Lipa's podcast show 'Dua Lipa: At Your Service,' BLACKPINK's Jennie appeared as a special guest and opened up about her journey of becoming one of the biggest female K-pop stars.
On the podcast, Jennie brought fans up close and personal, opening up about her childhood and the struggles she faced on her journey.
One of the memorable things Jennie shared is her mother's influence over her perspective in life which has made her who she is today. Jennie shared, "My mom always had this wish that I would experience not just my culture and my country back home, but also travel the world and be that person who is free everywhere I go."
Thanks to her mother's principles in life, Jennie was able to study in New Zealand to widen her perspective of the world. Jennie also shared about her early life and talked about her life in New Zealand and how it shaped her dreams of wanting to become a K-pop artist.
Now, Jennie travels the world performing in the biggest cities as one of the most recognized K-pop idols. Jennie also opened up about the slump period she experienced as a performing artist.
She explained, "I would constantly hurt myself during performances and lives compared to other girls. It was a just a stressful thing in my life. I'm like 'there we go, I fell again. I tripped over again.' I've realized that...even though I had the training days that was more about...I need to be good at dancing not how do I keep myself safe and healthy while I'm doing this."
Jennie continued, "I feel like I've disappointed my fans at some point in my life where it seems like I wasn't giving my best. But...I haven't had the moment to say this, but I...I did not know how to control my body and use my body the way I should. Something like I just don't do well in heels."
Fans have become mesmerized by Jennie's views on life and how her life experiences have shaped her to become the person she is. They have been sharing various clips and segments from the podcast show while expressing their admiration for the young artist.
I don’t think antis have created an imaginary persona for her, more like pointed out her shortcomings as an idol which are glaringly obvious anyway 🤷🏼♀️

So she became an idol because she wanted to travel the world and do what she wants? Such superficial reasons. At least she recognizes that she’s a burden to her group, always messing up
