Uhm Jung Hwa shares her feelings about the ending of 'Doctor Cha'

[Spoiler Alert]

Uhm Jung Hwa expressed her support for all the 'Cha Jung Sook's in the world who aspire to achieve their dreams no matter what.

Recently, Uhm Jung Hwa participated in an interview to mark the end of the popular drama 'Doctor Cha' and talked about how she felt about the drama's ending.

'Doctor Cha' tells the story of Cha Jung Sook, a housewife who spent 20 years being a housewife at home before she decides to pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor. Uhm Jung Hwa brilliantly portrayed the role of Cha Jung Sook, who embarks on her journey of being a doctor as a first-year resident.

During the interview, Uhm Jung Hwa exuded bright and positive energy, expressing her gratitude. She stated, "I didn't expect the drama would receive such an overwhelmingly positive response. I didn't think that so many people would like the work."

She also admitted that she had felt a certain pressure since it had been a while since she had appeared in a drama. She explained, "It's been a while since I appeared in a drama, and also, Cha Jung Sook is the main character so I felt that if the drama wasn't successful, it would all be my fault. But the drama is heartwarming and fun so I had anticipation (for its success)."

She added, "Cha Jung Sook became the best character of my life. Before when I went outside, people would recognize me as 'Uhm Jung Hwa' but now people are more happy to see me and call me 'Cha Jung Sook.' Being called by my character name was an experience I never went through in my life."

Uhm Jung Hwa also shared that she liked the ending of the drama. She explained, "I liked that Cha Jung Sook chose to live her life on her own, and not as Seo In Ho's or Roy Kim's woman. I also think the viewers think differently from before. A long time ago, viewers would say 'choose someone,' but then I think there were more people who supported Cha Jung Sook's independence now."

Uhm Jung Hwa further elaborated that she received inspiration from her character Cha Jung Sook. She shared, "Cha Jung Sook was oppressed because of her age. Her husband said to her, 'you'll be 50 when you become a doctor,' but Jung Sook replied to him, '50 is still young'. I really liked that line. I really wanted to play a role that would advocate for someone and speak out loud for them."

She concluded by saying, "There are many people with the name Jung Sook and I think there are many people who empathized with Jung Sook. People might think 'it's too late' to do something but let's not think that way. I think it would be best if we look at ourselves and love ourselves more and try something we like. If you try, you'll be able to have a new perspective. I encourage people to spend time for themselves, even if it's a little."

One more thing I learnt in this drama~ was holding your anger and having control of our rush emotions~ I also very liked the parts where the characters review in their mind what they really wanted to say and do out of anger but then they decided to control their emotions (unlike the mother in law)~

I hope I can control my anger although this dramas characters were in worst position than mine in life yet they were able to .....
