On April 11, KST, Young K was discharged from mandatory military service. He entered the army training center on October 12, 2021, and has since served as a KATUSA (Korean Augmentation To the United States Army) soldier.
After his discharge, Young K is the second member of DAY6 after Sungjin to complete his service. Following Young K, member Dowoon is scheduled to be discharged in July 2023 and Wonpil in November 2023.
With Young K being released from his mandatory service, fans are gathering on social media and online communities where they are welcoming back the idol. Many fans are ecstatic to see Young K back and are happily waiting for the DAY6 member to resume activities.
Fans commented, "Finally he's coming back," "Welcome back Young Hyun!" "I'm so happy he's getting discharged," "congrats on your discharge," "I'm so happy!" "I saw a lot of his photos in the military," "I hope he resumes activities fast," "Oh wow, congrats," "His military photos look amazing," and "He looks so cool in the military photos."
What duality! his photo as an idol (the one on the left) is completely different from his photo as a soldier (the one on the right).
