K-netizens are furious at the news that NCT's Lucas might return to promotions soon.
Earlier on February 1, SM Entertainment's CEO Lee Sung Soo updated his Instagram with a set of photos of him and Lucas, sitting at a section of the SM building.
The photos immediately sparked speculations that Lucas would be returning to his entertainment activities soon.
According to the public online encyclopedia platform Namu Wiki, frequently used by South Koreans, a summary of the events which led to Lucas's hiatus are as follows:
- August 23, 2021 - A netizen claiming to Lucas's ex-girlfriend accused the idol of severe gaslighting and emotional abuse.
- August 24, 2021 - Two other Chinese netizens stepped forward and claimed that they also dated Lucas. All three netizens were fans who were then approached by Lucas in person, via AirDrop, etc. Some of the netizens claimed that Lucas did not use protection during intercourse, and that he often asked the alleged 'girlfriends' to buy him luxurious gifts, book luxurious hotels, and more.
- August 25, 2021 - Another Chinese netizen came forward with similar claims.
- August 26, 2021 - The first netizen came forward with more accusations, including that Lucas allegedly abused his power over staff, badmouthed his group members, and apparently boasted about having visited a prostitution business as a minor.
Approximately 2 years after the controversies broke out, K-netizens are reacting to the possibility of Lucas's return to the K-Pop industry with comments like,
"Seeing his face and Lee Sung Soo's face literally gave me shivers. They literally don't give a f***."
"He doesn't have a single Korean fan left, and a lot of his Chinese fans have turned their backs on him, so what kind of profit is he going to make?"
"Don't forget, Lucas bought a cat to give to one of his girlfriends but then when she didn't want it, he threw it away and Winwin had to adopt it."
"Because of this one member, WayV went through a horrible time, their image was ruined, they couldn't make a comeback for nearly 2 years and were treated like trainees in a dungeon. This is so damaging to the other WayV members. I can't f***ing believe this."
"Just because all the things he did - gaslighting people, no protection, cheating, treating women as ATMs, trashtalking about his group members - just because all of those things aren't considered 'illegal' by the current judicial system, that doesn't mean he's not a criminal."
"This is why SM is trash."
"If this is all just for SuperM, it's so not worth it."
"If I were him, I would be so embarrassed to even be seen in public."
"Those international fans who want him back so badly... do they not have morals? Do they not care about the other members?"
"Just thinking about this one shoving his face in the same frame as Baekhyun and Taemin and Kai... so disgusting."
