One of the toughest challenges when it comes to idols is the fact that they have to be well-rounders. Beginning with stage presence to even the most minute facial expressions. Maybe it's due to the immense training they go through to perfect every aspect on stage that makes them perfect for acting on-screen. Here are five of the most talented idol-turned-actors fans have seen thus far!
1. IU: The range of acting that IU has shown on screen is just as vast as your vocal ranges. It's amazing how talented IU is when it comes to on-screen acting. With "My Mister," she played the role of an impoverished and debt-laden woman taking care of her grandmother through temporary jobs. She was the student that wanted to become an aspiring singer in "Dream High," then turning back time, she got to play the role of someone living during the time of the Goryeo Dynasty in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," and we cannot forget the ultimate sassy hotel owner Jang Man Wol! Rather than sticking to one specific stereotypical role, IU really went to great lengths to prove that she is a great actress!
2. YoonA: Multi-entertainer, it's no surprise that veteran singer YoonA would eventually make her on-screen debut as an actress! Starting out with a major role in "The K2," to now even featuring in films with some of the greatest actors within the world of Korean entertainment, such as "Confidential Assignment," and "Exit," it's always a pleasure to be able to see her take on such prominent roles!
3. D.O.: One of the most hilarious actors on-screen. Who would have known that Do Kyung Soo, who is always seen with such a serious and charismatic face on stage, would have a completely different persona on-screen? A very comedic one, at that!
4. Park Hyungsik: Maybe it's just the fact that Park Hyungsik is such a natural at the roles that he takes on; none of the roles he has taken feels forced, as though he has to put in the effort to actually portray the characters. Was there anyone that didn't love him in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," "Suits," and "Soundtrack #1." All were such greatly played roles!
5. Jinyoung: Beginning his debut as an actor through "Dream High 2" Jinyoung has also shown just how talented he is through various roles he's played in "He is Psychometric," and playing the lovely gentleman in "Yumi's Cells" and "Yumi's Cells 2."
Truly amazing how talented these idols are, and while these aren't the only idols that have turned into actors, many can agree that their acting skills are top-notch!
Yook Sungjae, Jinyoung, Im Siwan, Hyeri, L, Hwang Minhyun, Kim Sejeong, Lee junho, Jung Eunji, Suzy, etc.
