Composer and singer Don Spike (Age 45, Kim Min Soo), who is accused of drug use several times, has been deemed a flight risk.
On September 28, Judge Lim Ki Hwan of the Seoul Northern District Court issued an arrest warrant for Don Spike, who is accused of violating the Narcotics Control Act, saying, "There is a flight risk."
Don Spike is accused of administering methamphetamine in areas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The Nowon Police Station in Seoul arrested Don Spike at the scene where he allegedly administered methamphetamine. The police received a testimony of Don Spike's drug use while investigating another suspect. The suspect and Don Spike are said to be acquaintances, and both are being investigated.
Police arrested Don Spike at a hotel in Gangnam-gu around 8 PM on September 26. At the scene, the police also confiscated 30 grams of methamphetamine, equivalent to the amount for 1,000 people. A police official explained, “This is the amount that is usually confiscated when catching a methamphetamine smuggler.”
Don Spike tested positive for narcotics as a result of a simple reagent test, and the police have requested a detailed analysis from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Don Spike finished interrogation before the arrest at the Seoul Northern District Court at around 1 PM on September 28 and answered reporters' questions as he was leaving. He only replied, "I will receive the deserved punishment," to questions such as "Are you admitting the charge?"' and "Is there anything you want to say?" To the question "when did you start taking drugs?" He answered, "Recently." To the question, "Is the use of drugs at multiple hotels intended to avoid investigations?" He answered, "No. I will tell you later.”
