Comedian Park Na Rae spoke up about hate comments.
On the July 1st episode of Channel A's 'Oh Eun Young's Golden Clinic', YouTuber Poongja shared the struggles and discrimination she faced in South Korea while living as a transgender woman. But she said she doesn't get affected by hate comments at all. "I don't mind hate comments at all. When I get too bored I even look up my hate comments. I find those entertaining. I don't really get hurt."
Dr. Oh Eun Young then asked Park Na Rae about the malicious comments. She first hesitated but opened up, "I used to be immune to hate comments. Sometimes everything felt funny. I even thought hate comments were a way of expressing interest. But now I've changed my mind. It was really hurtful."
Park Na Rae continued, "I felt like an emotional trashcan of hate commenters. At first, illogical comments don't affect you but at one point it starts hurting if those are kept thrown at you."
Casual and flippant 'hate' comments can be something you easily laugh off. But I fully support celebrities pursuing legal action when someone is attacking daily or posts things that will hurt the celebrities family. Then it's a case of play stupid games win stupid prizes.
