Won Soju, which was created by Jay Park and became a hot product, is starting to be sold exclusively at the convenience store chain GS25.
Despite the interest of many consumers, GS25 convenience store owners are expressing their dissatisfaction with Won Soju's sale policy.
This is because the Won Soju limits orders for each store, which is why many of these GS25 convenience stores are suffering from customer complaints.
On July 18, The Hankyoreh reported that GS25 store owners and part-timers were expressing great dissatisfaction with the sales policy.
GS25 has been selling Won Soju Spirit since July 12. Unlike your typical Soju, Won Soju has a special distilling process and is aged in pottery. Won Soju, which was launched in February, has attracted so much attention that more than 1,000 people waited every day at The Hyundai Seoul, Yeouido, where a pop-up store was opened.
With the announcement of the release of the Won Soju spirits, many consumers are gathering their attention to the brand once again. However, there are many consumers who are having a difficult time getting their hands on the product.
GS25 convenience stores are allowed to order the Won Soju spirit three times a week, four bottles at a time. This means that only 12 bottles were supplied per convenience store. The problem is that the amount of one-time orders, which is still insufficient, has been reduced from 4 bottles to 2 bottles recently.
As a result, G25 franchisees are suffering from the agitation of customers asking for the alcohol brand. There are many consumers leaving reviews on the convenience store app saying that they are annoyed with the convenience store being sold out of Won Soju.
Convenience store owners and part-time workers explained that customers even call at 2 or 3 AM asking if Won Soju is available. Therefore, many of these GS25 convenience store owners are expressing their complaints as well.
If they want to give the exclusive vibe they should sell online or in high end stores, not convenience stores. My guess is they weren't sure how much it would sell, so they limited the batch. They'll make more this time around. The worst thing is to go to the convenience store and it does not have what you want.
