Chaeryeong revealed why she decided not to tan like her fellow ITZY members.
On the July 19th episode of 'Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope', ITZY's Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna featured as guests. On Chaeryeong's pale skin, Ryujin expressed, "When I see thumbnails, one person stands out. Because she's so white." Yeji continued, "I've tanned a lot this year. I stood next to Chaeryeong on 'Music Bank', and I got more tanned than I thought. As Lia says, I made Chaeryeong shine like 'Like a Star in the Night Sky'."
Chaeryeong said, "I was thinking about tanning when I debuted, but Lia told me, 'If you tan, you'll become someone who's not pale or not sexy. You'll just be ambiguously in the middle.' I'm grateful when I think about it now."
Yeji and Yuna added about Lia, "She gives good feedback about what looks best on the members."

honestly, I wish AKP would stop posting these sorts of articles. they do a poor job at accurately translating or explaining the meaning and it just unnecessarily sparks controversy. these “expressions” aren’t even understandable for Western countries without proper context.
