Renowned director Kim Jee Woon has gathered a talented cast, headed by Song Kang Ho, for his next film project.
'Spiderweb', produced by Anthology Studios and Bareunson Entertainment, marks director Kim Jee Woon's newest big-screen project in approximately 4 years, since the release of 'Illang: The Wolf Brigade' in 2018. The production also marks Kim Jee Woon's 5th reunion with actor Song Kang Ho after films including 'The Good, the Bad, the Weird' (2008), 'The Age of Shadows' (2016), and more.
The story takes place in the 1970s, when one movie director, Kim Gam Dok (Song Kang Ho), becomes convinced that the ending of the film he has just finished shooting must be changed. Day by day, Kim Gam Dok struggles under immense pressure within his own mind to change the ending of his film, all the while none of the film's actors, actresses, or anyone from the production side comprehends Kim Gam Dok's newly contrived ending. Films were also under heavy censorship at the time, but despite various interferences, Kim Gam Dok pursues his purpose to the end.
Joining Song Kang Ho in this new project as part of the lead cast are: Im Soo Jung as Kim Gam Dok's wife and veteran actress Lee Min Jah; Oh Jung Se as a top actor known for his numerous affairs int he film industry, Kang Ho Sae; Jeon Yeo Bin as a representative from the production company Shin Mi Do; and Krystal as a rising rookie actress, Han Yoo Rim.
