A total of 1,700 South Koreans were asked by Gallup Korea to vote for the TV actors/actresses who shined on the screen in 2021.
The poll was conducted from November 5-28 all across South Korea, and anyone over the age of 13 could participate in the poll.
Actor Kim Seon Ho of tvN's 'Hometown ChaChaCha' was named by approximately 7.8% of the poll voters, putting him in 1st place for 2021. 2nd place was a tie between Kim Seon Ho's 'Hometown ChaChaCha' co-star Shin Min Ah and 'Squid Game' star Lee Jung Jae, both earning 7.3% of the votes.
The top 10 TV actors/actresses who shined in 2021 are, in order: Jun Ji Hyun (5.5%), Song Hye Kyo (5.2%), Kim So Yeon (5.0%), Honey Lee (4.9%), Jo Jung Suk (4.9%), Nam Goong Min (4.5%), Youn Yeo Jung (4.1%), and Song Joong Ki (4.1%).
Meanwhile, the 'TV Actors/Actresses Who Shined' category has experienced significant fluctuations in rankings since 2007, unlike other categories such as 'Comedian of the Year' or 'Sports Star of the Year'. Last year, the top 5 'TV Actors/Actresses Who Shined in 2020' included: Kim Hee Ae, Park Bo Gum, Hyun Bin, Park Seo Joon, and Son Ye Jin.
