It was highly anticipated by fans of SHINee’s main dancer TAEMIN to be nominated for the 2021 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) categories, “Best Dance Performance Solo” and “Best Male Artist.” But alas, he was not. These unexpected omissions of nomination caused quite a stir on Twitter.
Frustrations aside, a tweet mentions a valid point regarding TAEMIN’s past achievements as a MAMA nominee. In fact, TAEMIN has won 3 MAMA awards (2 mentioned in the tweet) from 11 nominations in the last 13 years of his career as a KPOP artist. And it was TAEMIN’s CRIMINAL performance that won him the 2020 MAMA award for “Favorite Dance Performance – Male Solo.”
Interestingly, this is the SOLO PERFORMANCE of TAEMIN’s ADVICE that was expected to be nominated.
