Fans are full of praise and admiration for BTS's Jimin as he proves once again that he is a self-made man
The fans' level of respect and admiration for Jimin is always on the rise the more they learn about him. He is already known to be endowed with an extensive scope of talent and skills based on his school years, which begs the question of whether there is anything he cannot do. So far, he is known to have been a member of the book, billiards, soccer, tennis, and robotics clubs while in school. He is also trained in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean martial arts, including Kendo, Taekwondo, and Hapkido and is very good in all of them. What is more, he was a Mathematics and Chemistry genius in school, was class president for 9 years and a valedictorian, and is now skilled in multiple dance genres. Fans say that he really did not have an unproductive day in his school years and feel inspired to be just like him.
Even after joining his record label, Jimin never stopped improving himself and picking up new skills. He is currently among the best in the industry in dance and vocal skills, thanks to his spirit of perseverance and always using whatever is at his disposal to sharpen his skills and become better. Rookie idols constantly cover his solo songs from the BTS discography because his performances are considered the industry's benchmark standard, so that rookies' covering of the songs is a way for them to prove their capabilities in dance and vocals. Moreover, even international artists and professionals in vocals and dance never run out of praises for him. End-year award shows in South Korea always feature his solo performances as highlights of the show, and Jimin has even won an award for his solo 'fan dance' performance. Various well-known artists use his performances as an inspiration for their artworks for display in national exhibitions. Suffice to say, his name has become among the most powerful in the industry, among other spheres.
However, getting to where he has not been an easy journey. It is only because of his zeal to succeed, his perseverance, and his belief in himself that he has risen above all odds to be the shining gem that he is now, and he is still following the same path he has followed for further self-growth.
On November 12, when the last episode of 'BTS In The Soop 2' aired, Jimin was seen playing Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself' on a guitar, and he was exceptional at it. So much so that even Suga applauded him and asked how he had learned to play that well, to which Jimin responded that he had taught himself through watching videos on YouTube. Fans were so impressed at his ability to pick up new skills, and that too by teaching himself rather than seeking professional guidance.
Immediately, fans got talking about how great he is and praised his determination that always brings results. Different keywords entered Twitter trends with this new revelation. The popular searches on Facebook were also related to this beautiful scene of Jimin playing the guitar like an expert even though he was still learning.
Of note is that Jimin had been seen trying to play the same song in a 'Bangtan Bomb' released in 2019, and had in fact, started to play it in 2017.
Jimin has also been playing 'Wedding Dress' by Taeyang for a long time now, on the piano. During the airing of the first season of 'In The Soop', he was seen to have perfected the piece as well through constant practice.
It can be seen that Jimin sticks to one thing and never gives up until he learns to do it perfectly and to his satisfaction.
Jimin also stated that he is learning English by himself through Netflix.
Despite teaching himself, it can be seen that he is doing very well. His pronunciation, intonation, inflection, and diction are all on point. Fans could not help but be impressed by him when they learned about this. Jimin uses anything at his disposal to grow.
When it comes to making music, Jimin does not have his own studio with all the proper equipment. As such, his creative process is usually done with the help of his iPad and/or phone. Recently, his first-ever self-produced song 'Friends,' which he did on his iPad, became featured on the latest Marvel film production, 'Eternals,' and it has been one of the biggest news topics in entertainment in the past few weeks. The song also earned a Gaon Song of the Year nomination in 2020, the first-ever member-produced song by the group to get this nomination.
Jimin has also written lyrics and created melodies for other songs, including the breakthrough song for BTS 'Blood Sweat and Tears,' and the highly praised bridge for 'Dis-ease,' among other songs.
Not having the required equipment has not stopped him from creating masterpiece sounds that break records and write history every other day.
Despite being considered to be among the best vocalist and dancers in the industry, Jimin did not have any vocal training lessons before his debut and only had to watch other members get training and practice what he had heard in his own time. Additionally, having trained in modern and contemporary dance as a major, while also having his hip-hop skills from the dance battles he would engage in during his early years, the type of dance that BTS as a group were doing was new to him, and he had to learn it without professionally training for it. Despite the difficulty, he learned and adapted to this new field, and he ended up debuting as both a main dancer and lead vocalist despite having the shortest training period. It shows how much effort he put in to land both of these positions within such a short time, the fastest out of everyone, and also without professional guidance.
The success and recognition that Jimin has now is self-made through his efforts, perseverance, and belief in himself, and it demands nothing short of respect and admiration.
