Jimin is now the first and only Korean soloist to have achieved 600 million combined streams on Spotify with only four tracks, which include his four solo songs, Filter, Lie, Serendipity (Full Length Edition), and Intro: Serendipity.
Despite not having made an official solo debut, all of Jimin's songs released under BTS have been performing exceptionally well on the charts. All his solo performances hold and continue to set new streaming records on Spotify with respect to the albums in which they were released. For example, both 'Lie' and 'Filter' hold records as the most-streamed solo songs from the 'WINGS' and 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7' albums, respectively, on the platform.
Lie surpassed 148 million streams on September 10, continuing to be the most streamed solo song from the WINGS era and the second most-streamed song overall, after the title track. On the other hand, Filter surpassed 199 million streams on September 14, also extending its record as the most-streamed solo song from the MOTS: 7 albums and the second most-streamed BTS solo song overall on Spotify. Filter is also the fastest Korean un-promoted B-side track to reach this milestone, and it ranks 8th among BTS's most popular tracks on Spotify as of September 15.
Intro: Serendipity crossed 95 million streams on September 15, whereas Serendipity (FLE) crossed 157 million streams on September 12. Both versions of Serendipity now have combined streams of over 252 million streams.
Current standings per song are as shown below, which has brought the total number of streams for the four solo songs to 601,037,126.
With this new milestone, Jimin became the FIRST and ONLY Korean soloist to surpass 600 million streams with only four tracks on Spotify. This is an impressive record as Spotify is the largest music streaming platform in the world, and Jimin is yet to even make an official solo debut; neither does he have a profile on Spotify yet.
Below is also the data for each song's streams as of September 13, when Jimin crossed the 600 million mark, which was also the day of the celebrations that saw SPOTIFY KING JIMIN trend worldwide.
Fans celebrated the new achievement by praising Jimin's vocals and diversity for each of the songs, which keeps them hungry and curious for more from the artist. He has proved himself to be capable of delivering any music of any genre with the highest of standards, and fans cannot wait to see what else he has in store.
Various keywords and hashtags trended worldwide as fans congratulated Jimin and celebrated his exquisite artistry, which led to this tremendous achievement.
'SPOTIFY KING JIMIN' and 'Congratulations Jimin' trended worldwide, peaking at #7 and #15 respectively; the two keywords also trended in the US. On aggregate, there were more than 37 trends in total, with over 6 keywords, which trended in more than 18 countries across the world. The hashtag #JiminSpotify600M also entered twitter trends, along with #ParkJimin and #BTSJIMIN, while other keywords included Mimi and King Jimin.
Jimin recorded new milestones on other platforms as well. On Melon, the largest music streaming and downloading platform in South Korea, Filter surpassed 119 million streams, the most-streamed solo song by a Korean idol group, and the 23rd most-streamed BTS song overall. This is impressive since Filter has been out for just about a year and a half and has managed to rise above previously released solo songs by other groups on the platform.
On the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, Filter ranked 9th for the week of September 18, 2021, which was an improvement of four places from last week's ranking. By so doing, Filter has now spent 77 weeks on this chart, extending its record as the longest-charting Korean song of all the 2020 releases, also having spent 55 total weeks inside the top 10 during this period.
Jimin's self-produced song 'Friends', which he performed as a sub-unit song with Taehyung, also reached a new milestone on Spotify as it recorded 120 million streams on September 14, 2021. Both Filter and Friends rank inside melon's top 10 most streamed BTS non-singles, with Filter being the only solo song on the list.
Evidently, Jimin's songs, both solo songs and those credited to him, are doing well both on domestic and international music platforms, despite being unpromoted B-side tracks. Jimin is an amazingly talented artist. His unique touch to his production and performance styles make all his songs a hit to the public, hence the longevity on the charts and the continuous extending of various streaming and sales records. It is expected that the same results will continue to be observed in the coming days, even as fans anxiously wait on his solo debut to have a full taste of his skill and talent, as so far they have only had a small taste of the pie.
And Jimin is yet to even make an official solo debut; neither does he have a profile on Spotify yet.
