On September 11th KST, the Blue House stated that President Moon Jae-in has given the “Future Culture Special Envoy” appointment letter to BTS. The formal ceremony will be held on the 14th. This will be the first time in over a year that he will meet with BTS at the Blue House since the “1st Youth Day Ceremony” of September 2020.

President Moon has also announced back in July that BTS will be a “Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture” to lead the global agenda for future generations.

As an envoy, BTS will attend major international conferences such as the 76th UN General Assembly to be held in New York on the 21st to deliver messages of comfort and hope to young people around the world. Additionally, there are plans to carry out various activities to promote international cooperation to solve global issues such as the environment, poverty, inequality improvement, and respect for diversity.

After the appointment, BTS stated in an interview, “We have grown up together with the current youth generation. We have directly or indirectly witnessed and experienced the impact of something social on us, such as global problems and a great economic crisis”. Whether it is a general meeting, if there is something we can do and we have the strength, we will participate“.
