#3YearsWithSerendipity trended on Twitter worldwide as fans celebrate the 3^rd anniversary of BTS Jimin’s solo song “Serendipity”.

On September 5^th, BTS ARMY started an appreciation event to commemorate the release of Jimin’s Serendipity. The fans shared heartfelt messages of love and support for the song. The hashtag #3YearsWithSerendipity trended worldwide with over 68K tweets.

Serendipity was first released on September 5^th 2017 as a comeback introductory song for BTS album Love Yourself: Her. Jimin went to Twitter on that date to ask fans to listen to the song as he prepared hard for it. This special song, since then, has been very much appreciated and loved not just by fans but the general listening public as well.

Serendipity has highlighted Jimin’s vocals and is such a very comforting song. The song has become a hot topic since its release. Its lyrics made reference to Jimin as a calico cat. Back then, different theories quickly spread about such reference. A blogger by the name of makewayforjay said that calico cats are described as having affectionate, endearing, intelligent, sweet, warm-hearted personalities and are very rare to find. It indeed perfectly describes Jimin. Some claimed that this reference is meant for the BTS members while others think it is for the BTS ARMYs.

Serendipity has further attracted attention because of its awesome choreography and Jimin’s amazing performances. The dance was choreographed by American dancer and choreographer Brian Puspos. It perfectly matches the song and fans were surprised to see that a dance for a such a mellow song could be that powerful and passionate. Since then, several dance covers of it have been posted online.

Furthermore, one of the most notable covers for Serendipity is that one from Shawn Stockman, a member of R&B group Boyz II Men. Shawn Stockman did a cover of Serendipity on his Instagram. Shawn has stated that when a song was written very well just like Serendipity, it doesn’t matter what language it was written. You would know a good song when you hear one.

During the celebration of BTS 7^th Anniversary last June 13, 2020, Serendipity has been picked by fans to be the #1 song that reminds them of Jimin through a song survey made by BTS.

Three years after its release, Serendipity continues to top iTunes in several counties worldwide. Serendipity (Full Length Edition) just achieved #1 on iTunes in India. The full edition has now peaked at No. 1 in 13 countries while the introduction version has 20 iTunes No. 1s.
