Shinhwa's Dongwan praised junior group BTS and also offered some advice.
On the July 27 airing of tvN's 'Worldwide Correspondence', the panelists had a discussion about K-Pop's global popularity.
To the question about the concerns on Hallyu, first generation idol star Dongwan commented, "I'm not a producer or a famous creator but one thing I'm concerned about is that there are quite a few celebrities who had to halt promotions and agencies that broke down due to political issues."
He continued, "There are many tempting offers overseas. But you're not going to have anywhere to return to when you continuously promote (only in foreign nations)."

Dongwan added, "If you don't establish a firm base in Korea, where it allowed you to grow as an artist, then you will fall. I hope they promote (overseas) after building a foundation (here in Korea)."
Dongwan then mentioned BTS, and said, "But I think the group that broke all stereotype is BTS. My thoughts have changed after seeing them. One thing I want from them is for them to think a lot about the Korean fans while promoting overseas."
